Pie Smith Wins Georgia Top 6 Classic
Blackshear Bassmasters team place 3rd overall

Eighty-six
teams competed Monday and Tuesday for top bass fishing honors in the state.
Also each individual had a shot at becoming a member of the Division team by
finishing in the top twelve of over 500 competitors.
Smith, a member of the Blackshear Bassmasters
6-man team won the overall event with a total weight of 31.50 lbs. The
Blackshear Bassmasters, lead by Smith, finish third in the overall team
standings with a total weight of 65.35 .lbs.
Carl Daniel, another member of the Blackshear team
finished high in the individual standings bringing in a total of 14.15 lbs.
This gave him a finish in the money with 23rd place out of the 25 paying
positions.
Competitors were meet with varying weather
conditions at this Top Six with rain on Monday and clear and windy conditions
Tuesday. Smith bought in 16.40 .lbs Monday and 15.10 .lbs Tuesday.
The winning pattern was a white spinner bait thrown at willow bushes in the
main lake. David Smith will now become a member of the Bass Federation
Southern Division Team and will go to Kentucky to fish the Ohio
River in June at the Southern Divisional Tournament.
